Location. The Albergo del Senato in Rome, Italy is a Baroque and Renaissance inspired hotel, located on the Piazza della Rotonda, directly opposite the Pantheon. Several of Rome's historical landmarks are nearby. The Trevi Fountain, immortalized by Fellini's film, 'La Dolce Vita', is 500 meters away, and the Coliseum and Ste Peter's Cathedral are both within three kilometers. Expert Tip. The Pantheon, directly across from the hotel, was originally built as a temple to the seven deities of the seven planets, but has been a Christian church since the 7th century. It is the best preserved of all Roman buildings and the oldest important building in the world with its original roof intact. The only natural light enters through an unglazed oculus at the center of the dome and through the bronze doors to the portico. As the sun moves, striking patterns of light illuminate the walls and floors of porphyry, granite and yellow marble. Admission is free.

There is an express train service every 30 minutes to Rome's Termini train station (journey time 30 minutes). A single ticket costs 9.50 EUR. Taxis are readily available at the airport, but take a licensed metered taxi only. An airport surcharge is payable. A taxi to the hotel will cost 40 50 EUR.
