Alternatively, the Cloisters restaurant, housed in what used to be the Hotel's stables and incorporating carefully retrieved and restored stained glass and period artefacts, offers traditional English fare, prepared using local products and focusing on char grilled food. One mile from the hotel, guests can take a trip to the Martin Mere wildlife sanctuary, or visit Floral Hall and the Arts Centre. The famous cities of Liverpool and Manchester are 15 and 28 miles away respectively. Manchester International Airport is 28 miles away, with an approximate driving time of 50 minutes.
